Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat fencing options does Steel Fencing Pro provide? Steel Fencing Pro's most popular fence materials for residential and commercial use include Steel Fencing and Aluminum Fencing. Why Steel Fencing Pro? Steel Fencing Pro's greatest asset is its ability to consistently provide a superior customer experience for all of our residential and commercial customers. Unlike most fencing distributors, Steel Fencing Pro is there to help you every step of the way. We are there for you Mon-Fri, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST @ 1.800.510.8325. Also, all of our fencing products are backed by strong warranties...proving the quality we deliver is tops in the industry. What are the basic differences between your types of fencing?
What are the differences between Classic and Premium steel fencing? The main differences are the square tubing size, finial size and weight. Our premium fencing is 16 gauge steel, while our classic fencing is 18 gauge. This why there is such a significant weight difference between a panel of the same size. For example, a 5' classic steel panel weighs 56.5 lbs., while a 5' premium steel panel weighs 103 lbs.
Premium steel fencing is often used as commercial fencing, while classic steel fencing is used in more residential areas.
What do I need to tell a contractor who is going to build a fence for me? Once you have decided to install a fence, you should be prepared to discuss the following points with your fence installation contractor:
What kind of fence will keep my pets confined but will not block my view? Traditionally, a chain link fence will do the trick, but chain link fencing does not provide the beauty when compared to steel or aluminum fencing. As long as your pets are a decent size, most of our steel and aluminum fencing will keep them confined to your yard. How deep do fence posts need to be set into the ground? Standard depth is at least 24 inches, however, this depends on many factors, including the type of material used and the climate conditions in your area (prairie land (cracks when dry), snow/ice grounds, high wind areas, etc.). Please consult your local fencing contractor to be certain of your needs for your area. How long will my fence last? There are many factors that affect the life of a fence, including local climate, soil conditions and the materials used, to name a few. You can expect a properly installed fence to last many years, as long as it is appropriately maintained. If you're unsure, one of our friendly customer service representatives can help you decide which type of fence will serve your needs best. What kind of guarantees can I expect from my fence contractor? We recommend that you discuss specific warranty concerns with your fence contractor prior to installation. Material warranties are usually provided by the manufacturer. Workmanship is guaranteed by the contractor. The term of a warranty will vary from product to product. Be sure to read the fine print on all warranties. How do I select a good fence contractor? When contacting a fencing contractor:
Visit our Fencing Contractor Info page for more tips on choosing a reputable contractor. Are there standards that pertain to fence materials and products? Yes. The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) develops and publishes standards for all types of fencing. A knowledgeable, well-trained fence contractor will be versed in ASTM standards for fence products and installation. Also, you can visit the American Fence Association for more helpful information.
